Winter is considered one of the most beautiful seasons of the year in the United Arab Emirates, lasting from December to March. The weather during this time is moderate, with temperatures reaching 25 degrees Celsius during the day and dropping to 15 degrees Celsius in the evening. This allows for numerous activities to be enjoyed in Dubai during the winter season. Today, we will highlight a variety of free or affordable activities in Dubai, amidst greenery and vast spaces, within public parks in Dubai and beyond.

Public Parks in Dubai

Mamzar Park and Beach

Mamzar Beach Park spans an area of 99 hectares, featuring a magnificent park and a sparkling beach. Located in Mamzar Lagoon near Sharjah, this park is incredibly vast and rich with endless activities. It boasts four beaches with clear blue waters, soft golden sands, extensive green spaces, and various sports courts such as basketball, volleyball, and football.

Mamzar Park designates Mondays and Wednesdays as ladies-only days, with all staff being women as well.

Zabeel Park

Zabeel Park is located in the heart of Dubai, between the areas of Al Karama and Zabeel, divided into two halves along Sheikh Zayed Road. The park spans an area equivalent to 45 football fields, in addition to lush green spaces, palm-lined pathways, a boating lake, a skate park, play areas, and a cricket pitch.

Zabeel Park is the first technology park in the Gulf region, housing three zones: Communication, Technology, and Alternative Energy, as well as the contemporary landmark Dubai Frame and the Garden Glow park.

Mushrif Park

Following in the list of public parks in Dubai is Mushrif Park, located on Al Khawaneej Road after the Mirdif area, covering 35,000 square meters of ghaf forests. Mushrif Park includes barbecue areas, playgrounds, sports fields, swimming pools, running and cycling tracks, an equestrian center, an astronomy center, and an international village featuring 13 models of traditional houses from around the world. Not to forget Aventura Park with over 85 exciting challenges and activities.

Al Barsha Lake Park

Considered one of the smallest parks in the emirate, but Al Barsha Lake Park is one of the best free parks in Dubai, featuring a wide range of activities in the heart of the Barsha area. The park includes green spaces planted with trees and a man-made lake and is ideal for fitness enthusiasts, with basketball, tennis, and volleyball courts, football fields, and tracks for running and cycling. It's worth noting that this place does not allow barbecuing inside.

Safa Park

Moving on in the list of public parks in Dubai, we come to Safa Park, which opened its doors in 1957 and is known for its many sports fields, children's play areas, barbecue platforms, and a running track that is 3.5 km long. Inside the park, there is a section designated for women only.

Burj Park

Burj Park is located at the base of the Burj Khalifa in downtown Dubai, overlooking the Dubai Fountain. It is an excellent spot for viewing the night lights and water shows. The park includes a variety of cafes, restaurants, and areas for children to play, and it is one of the public parks that allow pets.

Quranic Park

Located in Al Khawaneej, Dubai, Quranic Park is known for its Quran-inspired landmarks, offering visitors a chance to learn about the Islamic religion. Both Muslim and non-Muslim visitors can explore exhibits representing miracles and plants mentioned in the Quran. Quranic Park is divided into four main sections: Cave of Miracles, Glass House, Lake, and Gardens. Prominent miracles depicted in the attractions include those of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), Jesus (peace be upon him), Moses (peace be upon him), Solomon (peace be upon him), the story of Prophet Joseph (peace be upon him), and Ezra (peace be upon him). Additionally, there are 12 gardens in the park, each dedicated to different plant species mentioned in the Quran, including figs, pomegranates, palm trees, grapes, citrus fruits, and others.

    Dubai Creek Park

    Continuing in the list of public parks in Dubai, we reach Dubai Creek Park, which offers history enthusiasts and those interested in exploring old Dubai a 2.3 km cable car ride, giving visitors the opportunity to see old Dubai from above, due to the park's location between Al Garhoud Bridge and Al Maktoum Bridge. It is also home to Dubai Dolphinarium, where children can enjoy watching dolphins and seals perform fun tricks, and there's Kid's City rich in interactive activities and games.
