Bawadi

Bawadi, Dubai is a planned mega-project that aims to create a desert-themed resort with hotels, entertainment centres, shopping malls and theatres. It is part of the Dubailand development, which is a large-scale leisure and tourism destination in Dubai. Bawadi was first announced in 2006, but was put on hold due to the global financial crisis. However, in 2016, there were hints that the project might be revived in time for the Dubai Expo 2020. Bawadi is envisioned as the ‘longest hospitality and retail destination in the world’, stretching along a 10-kilometre boulevard with 51 hotels and over 60,000 rooms. Bawadi is expected to attract millions of visitors and offer a unique experience of Arabian culture and heritage.
